Old Delhi or Purani Dilli - 110006, Daryaganj, Chandni Chowk and others

Well this is about a place near central delhi which throws a light on the much traditional, realistic and simpler day and night life of Old Delhi. The Rikshaws, the Pan Stains (thooke hue pan ka nishan) on the historical walls, the charsees (smack inhalers) mostly you will find it in the narrow streets or bylanes of Daryaganj and nearby areas. The secular atmosphere in Delhi-6 is what attracts me the most. Often I come there with my friend Minnat Hussain, and have some delicious Non-Veg dish that is Chicken Changezi followed by a glass full of Lassi. How much the New Delhi has undergone changes but the traditional Old Delhi is still marvellous and quite unchangeable but modernity is there. Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk has got almost all the Public Sector Banks as well as Private Banks. If you are a Sikh then you can go to Sheeshganj Gurudwara or if you are a Muslim you can go to Fatehpuri Masjid or if you are a Hindu you can go to Hindu temples or a Christian you can have the way to...

A Visit to Red Light Area of New Delhi - GB Road.

I, like any other guy of my age thought to give it a try as I had never been there before inside. But I had passed through the road 2 to 3 times. One of my good friend once took me for the first time to show the area during day time. We hired a rickshaw and started our tour. As we where passing through the G B Road the sex workers were calling us to come up. It's a common sight that these sex workers from the windows of their kothas look at the people who pass on through the road a...
