Old Delhi or Purani Dilli - 110006, Daryaganj, Chandni Chowk and others
Well this is about a place near central delhi which throws a light on the much traditional, realistic and simpler day and night life of Old Delhi. The Rikshaws, the Pan Stains (thooke hue pan ka nishan) on the historical walls, the charsees (smack inhalers) mostly you will find it in the narrow streets or bylanes of Daryaganj and nearby areas. The secular atmosphere in Delhi-6 is what attracts me the most. Often I come there with my friend Minnat Hussain, and have some delicious Non-Veg dish that is Chicken Changezi followed by a glass full of Lassi. How much the New Delhi has undergone changes but the traditional Old Delhi is still marvellous and quite unchangeable but modernity is there. Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk has got almost all the Public Sector Banks as well as Private Banks.
